INTRA VENOUS (IV) INFUSION THERAPY

Intravenous (IV) treatments are available to eligible patients following a thorough medical consultation. In many cases, blood tests may be required as part of the assessment process to ensure treatments are appropriate and safe.

Each treatment is carefully considered and provided only when clinically indicated, in accordance with current regulatory and professional standards.

We encourage patients to discuss their individual health needs and any questions with our medical team, ensuring that all decisions are informed and tailored to their specific circumstances.

Learn more about this Treatment

Iron is an essential element found in all cells in the human body and has several vital functions, the main one being to carry oxygen from the lungs to the tissues as a key component of the haemoglobin protein.

Iron deficiency is quite common and can manifest as fatigue, dizziness or lightheadedness and a pale appearance. In some cases it can even lead to anaemia ( a lack of red blood cells ). Children, pre-menopausal women and people with a poor diet are most susceptible.

A simple blood test can check if your iron levels are sufficient and whether or not you are anaemic.

Oral iron supplements are often not absorbed particularly well and can lead to gastrointestinal symptoms such as constipation.   If clinically required, we can provide alternative  supplementation that is quick, easy and well tolerated.

The most common causes are:

  1. Bleeding – menstrual and non-menstrual (most commonly from the gastrointestinal tract)
  2. Inadequate dietary intake.
  3. Malabsorption syndromes. Our primary source of iron is through diet. Foods rich in iron include red meat, poultry and eggs. Lentils, beans, tofu and leafy vegetables also contain iron but are required in very high doses to provide an adequate intake.

NAD+

Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide (NAD+) is a coenzyme naturally present in living cells that participates in various biological processes. Research continues to examine its potential clinical applications, with studies investigating age-related changes in NAD+ levels and their possible associations with cellular functions1.

NAD+ plays a role in energy metabolism and cellular repair mechanisms. Current scientific literature explores its involvement in areas such as DNA maintenance and metabolic regulation, though further research is required to fully understand its therapeutic implications.

No therapeutic claims are made regarding NAD+ administration. All treatments must align with Australian regulatory standards and individual clinical needs.

Objective

Delivery of the essential cofactor NAD+
