Remove your double chin without surgery!

Fullness under the chin or a "double chin" is a common concern for both men and women.  Our injectable treatment improves the appearance of a double chin, resulting in a more contoured neck profile and jawline.  The Skin Clinicians is one of a few clinics in Australia able to offer this treatment at this time.

How is the treatment administered?

Treatment typically takes 15-20 minutes.   A precise number of injections will be administered into the submittal region (double chin).  A minimum of 2 treatments is required, 6 to 8 weeks apart.  Up to 6 treatments may be administered, however most see a visible improvement in 2 - 4 treatments.

How many treatments will I need?

Most patients show visible improvement of their chin profile in 2 to 4 treatments.  Once your goals have been met, re-treatment is not expected.

What can I expect during treatment?

Prior to your treatment, ice/ice packs will be applied to the treatment area to make you more comfortable.

Is there downtime?

For most patients, downtime is minimal and occurred most commonly after the first treatment session.  When scheduling your treatments, keep your social plans and work commitments in mind.

When will I see results?

It take a minimum of two treatments to appreciate any results.

Most patients will achieve their desired look within 3 months.  Up to six treatments may be administered.  Treatments are performed 6 - 8 weeks apart.

How long will the treatments last?

The improvement in the submittal area is very long lasting and retreating is not expected.

Normal ranging changes in the the skin and other tissues will continue to occur however.  Though the treated fat cells are destroyed and replaced by collagen, a small amount is left behind.  If you gain a great deal of weight, the remaining fat cells may expand giving a full appearance

What are the most common side effects?

All patients should expect swelling in the treated area.  This is most dramatic in the first 3 days after the procedure. Subsequent treatments generally result in significantly less swelling.  Tenderness, discomfort and numbness in the treated area is very common.  Redness and firmness in the area is also common.  Bruising is possible and will generally resolve in a week.
